Greene ‘76 Leads N.C. Medical Board
Eleanor E. Greene ’76, MD is serving as president of the North Carolina Medical Board (NCMB) for 2016-17.
She was originally appointed to NCMB in 2010 and has served on the board’s disciplinary, executive, license and policy committees, and as secretary/treasurer. She also has served on the board of directors for the N.C. Physicians Health Program.
After earning her medical technology degree, Greene received her MD and a Master of Public Health in Maternal and Child Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Ohio State University. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Greene is a member of the North Carolina Medical Society, Doctors for America, the North Carolina Obstetrics and Gynecology Society and the National Medical Association, where she served on the Board of Directors and finance and health policy committees. She currently serves on the editorial committee of the Federation of State Medical Boards.
In addition, Greene has served on the boards of directors for the Piedmont Health Services and Sickle Cell Agency and on the North Carolina Advisory Committee on Cancer Coordination and Control.
Greene, a native of Salisbury, practices gynecology and works at Triad Women’s Health and Wellness Center in High Point, N.C.
